National Craft Day 2017 - Hari Kraf Kebangsaan

22 February 2017 - 06 March 2017

Do you like handicrafts? Or are you a craftsperson, yourself? Visit the 15th annual National Craft Day this February, a two week event comprising craft sales, craft exhibitions, craft demonstrations, cultural performances and many more. This year’s concept is Native Art referring to the traditional motifs of ethnic communities in Malaysia, and how they have been translated into more contemporary interpretations in fashion, street art and graffiti art.
Some 400 entrepreneurs from various fields are expected to take part in the exhibition and sales. Visitors will find a variety of crafts at the event, including textiles, forest products, crops and metal. Among the products that will be featured are clothing, accessories, architecture, interior and exterior design creations, as well as gifts and souvenirs. Visitors will also get the chance to taste various types of traditional food and find absolutely stunning handmade furniture. If you are looking for pure Malaysian craft, you can check out some of the latest authentic Batik designs or Songket fabrics, too.
What’s new? In conjunction with Visit Perak, Pahang & Terengganu Years, the National Craft Day will give special emphasis to the crafts and culture of these three special destinations. In addition, the exhibition will introduce a new technique of making Batik known as the 3 layers of Batik Block.
Admission is free. So what are you waiting for? Bring your family and friends. The more, the merrier!
